Brighthearth Banneret

Magic the Gathering; Morningtide. ©Wizards of the Coast

Acrylic, Approx 11" x 7.5".

Original artwork for sale; UK£350.

Standing sentinel upon the hilltop the Flamekin banner furls majestically.

I chose a low down point of view to imbue the figure with more power, and majesty. However I wanted to keep the main focus as the banner so I placed that against the simplest part of the background, thereby allowing the silhouette to remain strong.

Having seen your recent journal i was wondering if/when this would be posted. I'm very pleased that it was soon =) It's a great piece of work, very dynamic. I'm put in mind of chinese spear-martial arts - he looks like he's about to thrust that spear forwards.

And i've just noticed he has REALLY skinny upper arms. Is that a species feature?

its really beautiful! the angle is great, having a dynamic composition like this really helps to stress on the movement of the banner and the flame :heart:
