Elder Zeez

Acrylic, approx 7" x 10"

World of Warcraft trading card game illustration

Original artwork for sale; UK£350

"Your courage will be their inspiration."

I wanted to offer a different approach with this image. I adopted a slightly more stylised design, which was emphasised by the way the winged windserpent curls around and over the Draeni.

The main focus of this piece was meant to be on the Draeni's weapon. It is given a prominent position in the images, almost in profile, whilst it's colour scheme is strongly contrasted by the background colour's I chose.

Lastly we look up at the figures, which helps make them all that more imposing, whilst a narrative element is added by their attention being drawn off to the left.

I think this image really says "hunter". (Perhaps because of the focus on the weapon and of course the expression he has.)

a little bit too futuristic compared to my fantasy liking, but I understand the needs of the Wow Background.

In any case is a wonderful art!

I just use brushes and paint. For the details I just use a finer brush - though generall yI don't go below a '3'. However I work at least 200% actual size, then reduce down for print.

Thnaks :)

Oh wow, I had no idea this was your work. Very stylized, like you said. Still a great piece, though. :) I do love the guns of WoW though... neat as they are, it just makes me think "NERF or nothin'!"

It's amazing to see how much potential there is in the good ol' acrylics. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I take out a lot off your pics.
This is a sick piece. It's very different to your previous works. Stylewise. It's got a more comicish sort of approach. But i can't really point it out. But it feels different to the other ones. Well done i'd say.

Glad my work is of interest :)

This is a little more 'cartoony'. The linework is more defined, and the shading more stylised.

Whoooaaa. I really, really love the scratchy-shading style you did for the Draenei... NEAT.
