Fork Lightning
Acrylic, approx 7" x 10" World of Warcraft trading card game illustration ©Blizzard Entertainment & Upper Deck. Original artwork for sale; UK£350 "Two for the price of one!" In this piece I opted for a point of view from below to make the Draeni more powerful looking and imposing. The titlted horizon line adds drama whilst reinforcing the narrative flow, created by the lightning, from left to right. The mid/foreground elements have an underlying purplish tinge and this helps them to stand out strongly against the contrasting green background. Whilst the colour scheme as a whole gives a slightly sickly and uneasy feeling to the piece. |
