One word... WOW! ( and more praise for your work ;) ) That is awesome I love how the mine looks, its just so scary. I wonder what jewels are yet to be uncovered...that is if anyone can survive mining in that mine.

this is a great piece, i love the perspective and the tones on the rock. One question though, after looking at the tutorial it looked as though you painted wtih watercolour washed(i know you said it was painted with acrylic). Im not very skilled with paint at all, but if not did you use watered down acrylic?

Yes, Acrylics are very versatile ( which is why I like them), make them dilute enough and they behave like watercolours.

that's a great and very strong painting, I love the sense of movement that it gives, and the use of complimentary colours really makes for a bold and good contrast.
the wild and aggressive look of the rocks fits perfectly to that  all those cracks and hard edges look so good.
what I kind of miss is some sort of figure, as I think neither the truck nor the eagle or cave really seem to live up to being a real subject. they all look good and are fine, but I think I still miss a figure. but eh, that might be just odd me. :D
anyway, this is a great picture.

I had a look at your walkthrough, thanks for sharing that  by colour correction do you mean a digital colour correction after scanning it in, or does that mean like going over the painting again and laying more colour over it? might be a stupid question, but I am afraid I am not very familiar with traditional painting processes yet

Thanks. I am pleased you like the finished piece. I guess the drawback with including a figure is that they can become the focus very easily, and it wasn't about them, but it would've helped with scale.

Yes, by colour correction I mean adjusting the levels/saturation/colour balance/etc on the raw scan digitally. Most of this to make the scan look more like the painting.

yeah, that's probably true :D I was just nitpicking, anyway, I like the piece a lot as it is
