There is so much in Metallic Dragons:Aerial Combat that makes it so infinitely cool. The excellent perspective and brilliant capturing of motion put us right in the midst of the action. A sweeping fantasy piece by *RalphHorsley, do enjoy!

Description
Metallic Dragons: Aerial Combat
Draconomicon 2: metallic Dragons - chapter start artwork; Dungeons & Dragons. ©Wizards of the Coast
Acrylic, Approx 21" x 19".
Original artwork for sale:
Web Shop:[link]
Wing beats mingled with cries as the battlers swooped and soared through the sky.
It was great fun to work on an aerial combat. It freed the characters from needing to be placed on the same plane, allowing for dynamic placement, whilst the wings act as excellent framing devices.
I placed the POV over the Elf's shoulder as that helps us identify with the adventurers. It also gives the sense of swooping in (as a rescuer?) to an ongoing engagement.
