'They had the loot, but were yet to secure their escape...'

I really wanted to capture a sense of motion and wild action in this picture; the sweeping curves of the track, twisting of the cloak, topplling of the timber supports and detail of the right hand side of the vignette, help create that mood. The eye is led through the composition by the points of light, whilst the resolution of the action is framed between the beams.

JI recently put a wagon chase in my DnD game for my players, ahve to say that after seeing your artwork, im starting to doubt my decision in setting...

Such a cool piece. I love the dynamic attitude of the cart and the characters. Fantastic Job!

Thorindianna Gembeard and Sylvannos Jonesrunner in the Temple of Doom(ed Undead that now are crawlin everywhere in this abandoned dwarven city so I had to go there to try to kill them all and loot what's mine by right of conquest, so I can be a hero when I get back and tell my people I liberated a whole undead infestated dwarven city with my friend alone, so I get the bragging right for live and as much ale as I can ever drink for free).

I love your stuff, Ralph, always. And this is a really cool image of a classic fantasy RP scenario. But... should've done your homework! Quite apart from the wheels on the cart being not only off the rails, but obviously too wide to fit on the rails in the first place (the rims should be on the inside of the track), they're also fixed onto the cart the wrong way around on the left hand side.

Yeah, yeah... there's always one, I know... this time it had to be me.

"Arrh, blasted ratlings! They know nothing of keeping railways in order! And let go of my hair, mage!!"
"I'm sorry, Master Dwarf, but right now is not - the right - time to be thinking about hair. Now, if I had something else to hold onto, I'd gladly let go of your hair."

The dwarf has common sense, at least he is wearing a helmet while riding in a speeding mine cart.

The composition certainly works very well, I especially like how the cart in the foreground follows the same angle as the foreground beam, and the way that same beam frames the goblin(?) cart in a little triangle. :meow:

Sweet! I really dig the sense of movement! Any odds you might post it a bit larger, so we can see the details better?

On a separate note, when you refer to "illustration board", is that Bristol board you're referring to? Or something else? I'd be surprised if acrylics worked well with Bristol, I should think they'd make it wobble up.
