"The fearless rogue charges headlong into the hail of missiles... "

I wanted to try to capture a real sense of movement and drama in this image. To do this I adopted a number of different approaches; the tilted horizon line adds tension, the powdery flung snow shows the action of charging, whilst I had soft blurred edges in the missiles to convey movement.

Lastly the figure was placed in the middle distance to show the ground he has to cover to reach the 'viewer', and the recklessness (or confidence?) of that endeavour.
