Two weary travellers wend their way up the broad avenue of trees, happy to have reached the comfort of home, as the sun dips to the horizon in the west.
In the brief for this piece I was asked to convey a vast elven/druidic tree city; Tall Trees.
I wanted to create a relaxed, atmospheric, feel to the place. Setting it at sunset allowed for the strong slanting yellow light, which helped me pick out the receding form of the trees, whilst adding mood to the setting.
Thats a great piece. I love the lighting and atmosphere you captured. Perfect value/colour control to create depth. Nice choice to do the foliage border too.
I can always appreciate a top landscape piece, mostly because i REALLY cant do them myself!!
Have tried...dont seem to have the knack lol
You definately got the 'Elven/Druidic' feel to it,not only through the style in which you've depicted the glade, but with the colours too.
I love all the little lights everywhere, and the 2 peeps at the very top...weary travellers returning home i imagine...
Great piece

Very nice, i particularly like the way you frame your work. It's in all of them, but this one stands out to me for some reason. I think it's because it's common to see character portraits etc framed in this way, but less so to see landscapes. Great job.
