The steely gaze tell us something of why the Hobgoblin clan is now only remembered through their fallen statues.

I wanted to try to create a sense of tension within the image, of a power capable of being unleashed at any moment. To do this I tried to juxtapose a fairly static figure against the movement of her cloak and hair, with the added element of the magically powered up arrowhead.

This is further reinforced by the colour conflict between the subtle purples in the shadows and the strong saturated green of the cloak.
