Again brilliant! How long did it take you to do this? I love the dark cult feel and there is so much fab detail to look at. Its one of thoughs paintings you could keep coming back to look at and seeing something else in the detail that you missed before brilliant! :)

This was a companion piece to Realms of Sorcery - it is meant to be the same place but some time later. One of the characters appears in both images.

It took several days to sketch and about 7-10 days to paint, probably a fortnight all in.

I do like to reward viewers coming back for repeat looks. Hopefully there is the initial punch then your eye can get to wander a bit more and seek things out.

I don't think I've seen many people use this particularly cool, sharp violet as a unifying color. It works superbly in this painting. I really like that daemonette as the center of attention. Such a wicked grin! :D

i see evil stuff happening XD i see also evil people in there O__o (sharp am i? XD) kidding ^^
i love the purple colour palette! amazing pic!
:iconralphhorsley:
It turned out to be a lot more limited palette than i initially intended. It is also unusual for me to use so much purple - but suits the evilness :)
:iconralphhorsley:
Yes, it was a n unusual colour palette for me too. Glad you feel it works.
:iconralphhorsley:
Thanks. That is a long time for me. Plus my work days are often about 10 hours long.

You compleated this painting really quickly considering the amount of detail and dedication you put into it! I love being able to look deep into a painting and keep seeing something new. :floating:

Painting with such a limited palette helped the speed side and some of the image is quite loose in places (intentionally of course ;) )
