Warning Shot by RalphHorsley Warning Shot by RalphHorsley
Warning Shot

Acrylic, approx 7" x 10"

World of Warcraft trading card game illustration
©Blizzard Entertainment.

Original artwork for sale; SOLD

"Next time I'll take your head off!"

The glowing background light provided a great focal point for the figure to be silhouetted against, whilst drawing our attention to the head and arrow.

I used the same light to provide the backlighting, softening that side of the figure, and allowing it to drop back into the frame giving extra depth.

The whole image is also tilted to help add drama and interest.

That's a lot of blood for an arm that's just bone... or am I missing something here?

It's all acrylics - day to sketch, 2 to paint.

Woah. Really nice!

Hmm, I can't imagine how is it possible for an undead to have so much blood. :P
And so fresh blood... :O_o:

Anyway, really nice concept.

Beautiful, as always. But... if he's a skeletal zombie, where's all that blood coming from? And why would he care about a head shot if he's already dead?

It's a good question. Since the Forsaken are dead, they don't need blood to carry oxygen throughout their bodies. My theory is their souls are sustained and contained by the scourge virus, which also sustains their bodies and keeps it from becoming rigid and stiff. In turn, they feed the virus. Maybe instead of blood, they are filled with an ichor produced by the virus. Might also explain their glowing eyes.
